Minimum Hardware

Your minimum setup depends on how you want to workout with TrainerRoad. All workouts require a bike, a trainer, and a computer (laptop or desktop, Mac or PC) or a compatible iOS/Android device.

An Internet connection is not required to work out, but you'll need one to get your initial workouts and sync them to the cloud. Additionally, you'll need to log in with an Internet connection once a month to verify your license.

Using Head Units (e.g. Garmin 500) with TrainerRoad

You don't need a head unit to use TrainerRoad. The ANT+ USB stick turns your computer into the head unit.

Not to fret though! Your head unit can still be on and connected to your devices while you ride. Each device is a little radio station that broadcasts a signal. TrainerRoad will listen and so will your head unit. Your head unit won't add anything to the TrainerRoad experience though.
